Jewelry Care
Our best tips for caring for your jewelry.
14K gold fill is composed with a layer of real, solid gold bonded to a brass base, in a 1/20 ratio. This large layer of solid gold makes our pieces extremely durable. It is far more long-lasting than any alternative to solid gold jewelry (vermeil, gold plated, etc).
You can swim, shower, and do any activity without having to worry if our pieces will tarnish or rust. That being said, it is best practice to remove jewelry whenever possible to elongate the lifetime of each piece.
Think of it in a similar way to your phone - you can get it wet, but it's better to keep it away from water.
For our pearl pieces, we use real, freshwater pearls in varying shapes and sizes. Pearls are extremely durable and can be worn in any environment (pool, ocean, workout class, etc). Their luster won't dull or fade since they are completely natural.
For any pieces with semi precious stones, the same applies as above.
Our jewelry collection is slowly phasing out any gold plated pieces, due to their delicacy. For the small selection left, here are our best guidelines for caring for them.
- Don’t wear when swimming, showering, or sweating heavily.
- Apply perfumes or lotions prior to putting on gold plated jewelry
- Wash hands before putting on & taking off gold plated jewelry
- Store gold plated jewelry in a pouch or soft cloth separate from other jewelry to avoid scratching
