Our best tips for caring for your jewelry.
14k gold fill
14K gold fill is a thick layer of real, solid gold bonded to a brass base, at a 1/20 ratio. That's a lot more gold than gold plating or vermeil, which is what makes it so much more durable and long-lasting than either.
It can handle everyday wear — showering, light activity, day-to-day life — without flaking or wearing away the way plated jewelry does. We'd still recommend taking it off for swimming or anything high-impact, just to keep it looking its best for as long as possible.
Think of it like a good watch: built to handle daily life, but not something you'd wear in the pool on purpose.
925 Sterling silver
Our silver pieces are made with real 925 sterling silver. It's durable enough for everyday wear, but like any silver, it can naturally tarnish over time — especially with exposure to perfume, lotion, chlorine, or humidity. Tarnishing doesn't mean anything is wrong with the piece; it's just how real silver reacts to the air and everyday products.
A little care keeps it looking its best: put it on last, take it off before swimming or showering, and store it somewhere dry. If it does tarnish, a quick wash or a polishing cloth will bring the shine right back.
Freshwater pearls
OUR PEARL PIECES ARE MADE WITH REAL FRESHWATER PEARLS — ORGANIC, AND A LITTLE MORE DELICATE THAN METAL OR STONE. WE'D RECOMMEND PUTTING THEM ON LAST, AFTER PERFUME AND LOTION, AND TAKING THEM OFF BEFORE SWIMMING, SHOWERING, OR SWEATING THROUGH A WORKOUT.
STORE THEM SEPARATELY FROM YOUR OTHER JEWELRY, SINCE PEARLS CAN SCRATCH MORE EASILY THAN HARDER MATERIALS. WITH A LITTLE CARE, THEY'LL STAY LUSTROUS FOR YEARS.
semi-precious stones
Our stone pieces are made with real, natural jade, quartz, and other semiprecious stones. Being natural, they're quite durable and can generally handle everyday wear.
That said, they're still stone. We'd recommend taking them off before swimming, working out, or anything high-impact, and storing them somewhere they won't knock against harder pieces.
